Battersea Square, SW11

35 tons of glass and steel delivered eight storeys up, zero disruption.

A substantial roof terrace for a Battersea Square penthouse apartment. The brief was to create a generous outdoor living environment that could comfortably host large gatherings while functioning as a calm, private retreat for daily use.

The build required lifting more than 35 tons of glazing and supporting steelwork to the 8th floor of a live residential building, coordinated in tight conditions without disturbing neighbours, road users or the wider street network. Once installed, the new superstructure allowed full-height sliding glazing to open the interior directly onto a series of outdoor living and dining zones.

Integrated planters, water features and screening soften the edges of the terrace, provide privacy and deliver year-round greenery. The result is a private roof garden that extends the usable footprint of the apartment and shifts the balance of the home toward outdoor living in the warmer months.
