Nestled in the leafy streets of Kensal Rise, this Edwardian home was brimming with potential but required a complete rethink to suit the needs of modern family life. Over the course of seven months, and with a construction budget of approximately £300,000, we delivered a full-scale transformation that seamlessly blended period charm with contemporary living.
At the front of the property, we carefully restored its original features, including ornate cornices and working fireplaces, ensuring the home retained its heritage character. Moving through the hallway, the space opens up into a stunning, light-filled open-plan kitchen and dining area, made possible by a generous ground-floor rear extension. Skylights and Crittall-style doors flood the space with natural light, creating a seamless connection to the garden.
Upstairs, the new loft suite offers a serene retreat, complete with soft, chalky tones, oak joinery, and a spa-inspired en-suite bathroom. The result is a home that flows effortlessly from street to skylight, balancing warmth, functionality, and modernity in equal measure. This project is a testament to our ability to reimagine period properties for contemporary living while preserving their soul.
